Little Black Book by jeyhawk.
Slash.
I’m in the mood, so this guilty pleasure gets posted. It’s not a story, it’s a scene, where while Dean is in the hospital, Sam finds a little book Dean keeps to record all his sexual encounters. Not as tawdry as it sounds, because to Sam, reading the book is finding out more about Dean. While I don’t believe that Dean would keep a record like this (too anal for him), I like the thought of the mystery of Dean unfolding itself before Sam’s eyes. And the fact that, sometimes, Dean does it for money so he can take care of Sam. It’s a sad little treat, quite easy on the eyes.
An excerpt:
“Sam doesn’t know what it means, but he supposes that is all right because he lost track of what they are doing and where they are going a long time ago. As long as there is him and Dean, the Impala, and the soft, hard warmth between them, he knows they’ll be okay no matter where the twisting road of life will take them next. He slides over on his back, letting Dean curl around him with his head on Sam’s chest without calling him a girl even once. He knows Dean needs this, just as he knows that Dean would never ask for it, and that any ribbing would leave him with a shot of Dean’s back as he moved to the other bed.”

Interesting how the very same topic can produce two totally different viewpoints. Case in point, Joss Wheadon’s response to the alleged end of the writer’s strike vs. Michael Eisener’s response.
Eisner says, in the same breath, “”It’s over,” Eisner said. “They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It’s going on Saturday to the writers in general.” and then he says, “A deal has been made, and they’ll be back to work very soon,” Eisner said, adding, “I know a deal’s been made. I know it’s over.”
He knows it’s over? Is he wearing a schwami hat? Either it’s over, or he knows it’s over, it just seems like he’s contradicting himself, only I can’t figure out how. He goes on to say that cutbacks will mean that returning writers won’t get paid as much. What kind of deal is that? And who are “they?” It just sounds so muddled to me, like there’s more he’s not telling us.
Wheadon, on the other hand, sounds more like Churchill, during the Blitz, encouraging Londoners to hang in there till the battle was really over. Because as anyone knows, the real battle begins when the war stops.
More on the strike….yeah, it’s not over till it’s over! Read article here.

You can read my review of the Supernatural episode “Malleus Maleficarum” at pinkraygun.com. Thank you!
An excerpt:
“I don’t even know how to discuss this next part. Ruby snaps, “Put a leash on your brother, Sam, if you want to keep him.” This forces all sorts of weird thoughts into my head, unbidden, even for me. What she means, of course, is that she wants Sam to exert his influence over his brother so that Dean doesn’t kill her. What it also brings to mind is the idea that if Sam is going to be the boy king in hell, then Dean will surely be his main minion. Nobody’s ever asked Dean if he wants to be a minion, Sam’s or otherwise, but, I somehow doubt it. He’s a free spirit and a Winchester and they don’t make very good minions. Or lackeys. Or leashed boys.”
