Which, as you know, is impossible, even if it is very pretty. But since this is heaven, since this is Dean’s heaven, the full moon is big enough and close enough to touch, all silver and blazing with moon dust. And around it, the stars sparkle white against the black and dark purple, like diamonds against velvet. This for Dean is a perfect night, this for Dean is perfection, and such a simple perfection it is, something that money and power cannot buy, and so right for Dean’s character, that he would choose this. Oh Dean, be it ever thus.”

“Sam and Dean arrive at a cemetery to dig up Clay’s grave. Or at least, they dig up a coffin, which turns out to be empty, and a very fine sight it was. The digging, I mean, not the coffin. I love watching the boys at work together, doing physical labor like this and I think that’s for two reasons. One, they’re beautiful when they’re all sweating and grunting and manly and stuff. And two, because the digging up of a grave in the middle of the night harkens back to a more innocent time, when saving people, hunting things was all there was to it, and we didn’t have any of this, “and oh, yes, we’re hiding out from Lucifer, and trying to say no to the AA. Michael, and waiting to get shafted by the holy host, etc.”

“The Soap Angel explains that it’s Cupid at work, and there’s something gone haywire with the results because a hungry love turns into a devouring love, literally. One of my first thoughts was, naughtily, that since Sam and Dean have this weird, brotherly, love-hate thing going on, and they tend to be a little obsessed with each other 24/7, would they then succumb to that and become each other’s valentines? Would the eating then start? I kept waiting for it, some indication, a movement of the mouth (Dean’s) or a look from beneath dark brows (Sam’s) that would take the story into a deliciously dangerous direction. Alas, no, though I feel fairly certain that I’m not the only one who thought this.”

“Then we are treated to a whole slew of scenes where Sam is in Gary’s body, and Gary is in Sam’s body, and then the fun starts. Every respectable TV show should have a body-swap ep, and this is Show’s. Although, to be frank, it would have been more fun had Dean and Sam swapped bodies with each other. With Ackles and Padalecki’s high level of comedic talent, and their familiarity with each other’s motions and gestures and speech patterns, it would have been a hoot and a half! So that’s one for the suggestion box, I think, and what with the rumors flying about a sixth season, maybe Show will take another stab at the body-swap idea and give us all a treat.”

Here are my thoughts….

The new ep is called Sam, Interrupted, which is a play on the title of Girl, Interrupted, which is the only movie I ever liked Miss Jolie in and the last movie I liked Miss Ryder in. But I love love love the idea of it!!! Because, seriously, what a riot! After all the crap that Sam and Dean have been through, it’s about time that they ended up in the looney bin. Even though it looks like they check themselves in to go undercover, it’s still pretty delicious. Becauase I like the idea of the boys in pjs 24/7, trapped in a place where the food is bad and everyone acts like they’re helping you but are truly evil!! And maybe there’ll be nekked nudity….

You know and I know  you know and everybody (probably) knows how many fanfics there are out there about this very topic, so it’ll be nice to see on the TV screen. Although, there’s no way Show can do it as good as, say, Moths on the Mirror  by fleshflutter, and other stories of that caliber, still it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Of clip 1, much hysteria ensues with the though of Sam in the altogether (having to take his pants down), and undergoing an uncomfortable situation. Padalecki is so very good at this kind of comedy, he’s so suited to physical humor, and I must say he looks really GOOD in this shot, all tan and lean and shaggy. The grey t-shirt just does it for me.

Of clip 2, there’s lots of Deanish goodness; I love the fact that he’s in blue pjs again, that never gets old for me. Interesting to see that something’s going on with him, some psychosis brought on by being in the looney bin, plus maybe…what, the ghosts of patients past?

I’m really looking forward to this ep because of the aforementioned goodness, plus, it looks like a REAL ep with a REAL case of saving people, hunting things. And the hiatus is over as well, thank goodness.

He saunters over to her like a tom cat and does that eyebrow thing and that glitter in his eye thing and then he does that leaning thing, all the while his mouth is moving, talking about their last night on earth, drawing her in for that kiss.”
